SEOEA Holds Workshops for Local Presidents & Treasurers

SEOEA recently welcomed local leaders from across Southeast Ohio for our annual Presidents’ & Treasurers’ Workshops, providing a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate, and prepare for the year ahead.

The Presidents’ Workshop, led by OEA staff members Taraja Shephard Allen and Matt Conrad, focused on equipping local presidents and vice presidents with the tools they need to effectively support their members and strengthen their associations. Sessions covered leadership development, member engagement and organizing strategies, available grants and resources, and ways to identify and cultivate future leaders within each local.

At the same time, OEA Secretary-Treasurer Rob McFee led the Treasurers’ Workshop, offering practical guidance for both new and experienced local treasurers. Participants received important updates on financial responsibilities, legal and reporting requirements, budgeting best practices, the autopay membership system, and available incentives to help their locals operate efficiently and effectively.

These workshops not only provided valuable information but also gave local leaders the opportunity to network, share ideas, and learn from one another as they prepare for another successful year of serving their members.

Thank you to everyone who attended and for your continued dedication to leading your locals and supporting educators throughout Southeast Ohio. We appreciate your commitment and look forward to another great year together!
