SEOEA Delegates Gather for Spring Representative Assembly

The Southeast Ohio Education Association held its Spring Representative Assembly on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the OU Inn in Athens, Ohio. Representatives from local associations across the region gathered to conduct business, share updates, and vote on several items related to SEOEA and OEA.

The meeting, led by Interim President William Van Pelt, included reports from officers, committees, and state representatives. Attendees received legislative updates as well as briefings from OEA officers, NEA directors, and members of the Board of Directors.

The following individuals were elected to serve SEOEA beginning this summer:

  • President (special election to complete the term): William Van Pelt
  • OEA Board of Director – SEOEA 1: Sabrina Stalder
  • SEOEA At-Large Representative #2: JD Benson
  • Athens County Representative: Rex Millhone
  • Scioto County Representative: Stephanie Taylor
  • Meigs County Representative: Sarah Lee
  • Lawrence County Representative: Lorna Besco

In addition to regular business, the assembly included updates about upcoming events, including the OEA/SEOEA Bingo fundraiser scheduled for April 18 and the OEA Representative Assembly.

The Spring Representative Assembly provided an important opportunity for members to engage in decision-making, stay informed on association efforts, and continue strengthening the work of supporting educators and students throughout Southeast Ohio.
